I’m driving from Budapest to Zagreb next week. I know I need a highway vignette to drive in Hungary at the highway, but what’s up in Croatia? If yes, where can I buy one?

You don’t need a vignette in Croatia, but toll booths are along the highway. You will get a “ticket” as you enter the highway zone, and as you leave the highway zone, you will return the ticket and pay the set fee for the part of the highway you have used. In other words, no pre-payment or anything is needed, you just pay as you drive along the highway. Payment can be done with cards.
